At the 2015 Indie Memphis Film Festival, he was presented with the festival's inaugural Vision Award for his permanent impact on the festival’s legacy. Since 2016, Erik has served as Head of Festival Programming for BendFilm, which most recently honored writer/director Debra Granik and writer/producer Anne Rosellini with the festival's inaugural (indie) Women of the Year Award for their 15-year collaboration.
